Linda, did you have a hand in those beautiful teacup cookies that appear in the first photo?! They are exquisite.
Eric, I wish I could claim these as my work – aren’t they absolutely amazing?! Maria Clarke of Polka Dot Cookies did these for me in celebration of my mom’s birthday awhile back – of course, it was a ‘birthday tea’…how appropriate?!
Oh, Linda, I just love the beauty of the gorgeous flowers…can’t wait to get my hands back in the earth. Thanks for the inspiration – I needed it today!! Have a fantastic day!

Hi, Connie! I feel exactly the same whenever I walk into your breathtaking store and am greeted by you! Oh, and, of course, Buddy! Thanks so much. Wishing you a beautiful day, Linda
I love it, love it.
Thank you, thank you, Joanne!!!
Gorgeous photos my lady! If you don’t mind me asking, what sort of camera are you using to take these photos. Each and every photo really speaks to the reader!
All the photos on the blog thus far were shot with an inexpensive Canon Power Shot A720 IS, 8.0 Mega Pixels, 6x Optical Zoom – a sweet little ‘starter’ digital camera. I’ve been using this camera for a number of years now and obtained it for free, simply by using my Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum card points! Lol My husband gifted me a “grown-up” Nikon for Christmas, which I have yet to learn to use, and so I imagine the photos taken with it will be wonderful once I master it. Stay tuned….I’m so glad you’re enjoying the photos.
Beautiful site. I look forward to having more time to peruse. So glad my daughter told me about it.
Thanks for your lovely comment, Christine! Please drop by again and again, and feel free to share with others…

Dear Linda,
Sanya and I received your email yesterday and wish you well on your journey to recovery…Thank you for the lovely comments on my oil painting. I painted it about ten years ago and, like you, I am a romantic. I paint what I love and what brings me great joy. We do like similar things. My home and garden reflect this. There is no print of the painting but please keep me posted on your blog and if I can get a direct link or email address to you I will send you pictures of some of my latest work…all still very romantic. It might be nice to keep up our correspondence this way. I love your blog, the high quality of it, and your exquisite taste. I’m glad you like my work, it’s a compliment.
Sincerely, Bette
P.S. Are you living in England? I’m in Southern California. One of our family names is Ryan…maybe we’re long lost relations….

Linda, looove this blog. It is so uplifting. Full of “Beautiful Ideas”, places I haven’t been, didn’t know about, but now I do! Thanks so much for your positive attitude and your cheery outlook on all things. I have added your blog to the Pat’s Plants & Gardens Facebook page.
See you soon
Peggy
Hi Linda. I have enjoyed browsing your site today. It lifts my spirits just to know that I can escape the realities of life but for a little while.
Sharon
You sounded amazing on the radio, Linda – a great job! I had planned to visit Pat’s plants yesterday, but unfortunately felt a little under the weather in the afternoon. I may get out there this morning if I can swing things that way. I’m going to a friend’s for brunch around noon and, after that, I have a bridal shower to attend, so hopefully I’ll get out to Bay Bulls this morning! Again, congratulations on a job well done. I look forward to seeing your posts about this weekend.
Loves and Hugs!
Absolutely beautiful photography! Nice to see you again this summer
Hi Linda,
Your blog is great. Your pictures are beautiful and your garden is amazing, and I am so glad I am now part of all of it. But none of it compares to meeting you. You are an amazing woman, beautiful, special amazing and all the wonderful words one can think of. You are an inspiration to all you meet and you probably have no idea of all the people you touch. I am so very glad I met you.

Thanking you for dropping by my blog! I’m so glad you and Roxanne found me! Thank you so much for your lovely compliment – now you’ve got me bawling – hubs just ran to get the tissues! Lol I cannot wait for Garden Visions to help me with my garden maintenance. I am so looking forward to enjoying my garden again, I cannot begin to tell you! It’s a gift that you and Roxanne give. Hi Linda, We are looking forward to working in your garden very soon! Thanks so much for everything. Roxanne
Hello Linda,
Just found your beautiful blog. Love everything about it…especially your beautiful cat Monza! I’ll be back often to see what you are up to.
Thanks, Carla! I’ll be sure to visit your blog, too!
Dear Linda,
I “stumbled” across your simply blissful blog from Jo-Anne Coletti’s blog…you had left her a comment on June 5th, and your sharing of your health situation so touched my heart and soul! I am reaching out to you with a big hug and to tell you how simply gorgeous your own blog is – the photos are sweet and restful, so serene.
My own beloved husband is battling stage IV colon cancer…and only in his late 40′s. It has been quite a journey and test of courage and grace for our entire family. So, when I spotted your comment, I immediately said a prayer for you dear lady and wishing you great peace in your healing and recovery. What a beautiful soul you are. I will be back to enjoy your blog many times now!
God works in such wonderful ways and thanks, too, to sweet Jo-Anne for “connecting” so many kindred souls through her vehicles of beauty and generous spirit. I do not have a blog myself—I am a busy working social worker professionally but SOME DAY hope to be able to truly “stop and smell the roses” and delight in all of these beautiful moments! Thank you for this amazing site with such wonderful and beautiful ideas and photos! I take my hat off to you!
Big hugs to you and blessings!
Amy Henrich in Iowa
Hi, Amy in Iowa!
Thank you for your beautiful words – YOU, my dear, touched my heart today! I am a newbie to the blogging world and it never ceases to amaze me how far-reaching it can be.
I must tell you that I only found the time to start my blog some months ago, since I am currently on medical leave from my job recovering from chemotherapy treatments – I hope to return in the fall. Blogging has turned out to be “happy therapy” for me – I never would have imagined it. I am learning new things about it every day!
I look forward to your visits, and I truly appreciate your taking valuable time out of your busy day to visit ‘Beautiful Ideas’ – it is the ultimate compliment. You and your husband are in my prayers, and I, likewise, wish the very best for you both. Please keep in touch and keep the faith…
Hugs,
Linda

Hi Madelief!
I’m glad that you enjoyed the blog! I hope you are having a lovely day.
Do you remember the turban that you shared on your December 2010 blog post? You blogged that you make this wonderful nut and chocolate-filled cake on the day before Christmas…and the photos you posted were glorious! I will be hosting “A Christmas Tea for Lucas” on December 11th at my home for my good friend Carolyn Aiken in support of her 6-year old grandson Lucas who has muscular dystrophy. Lucas will be travelling from Prince Edward Island to Montreal with his mom (Carolyn’s daughter Jen) once a week for 52 weeks to participate in drug trials. I just know that my Tea guests would looove your awesome cake! And, I think I would enjoy making it! It looks so pretty and delicious. Would you kindly share the recipe?!
Hugs,
Linda

I just read your reply to my comment on your blog. Such a good idea to organize a tea party for Carolyn. I hope the drug treatment will help and Lucas will get better.
I would love to send you the recipe, but I can’t find your email address. Would you mind mailing me? You can find my email button on my blog in the sidebar on the right.

Hello Linda,
Thank you so much for the lovely comment about my gardens. The climbing rose is named Willian Baffin. It is Canadian Explorer Rose (so would work for you). Zone 3 and up. It blooms like the picture every year for a full flush and then has some blooms for the rest of summer and fall. It is hardly touched by insects, wish I would have planted more of them when I had room.
Your post is just beautiful and I’m enjoying taking my time to view it.
Nancy
Hello dear Linda,
Thank you for stopping by for a visit. I always enjoy your lovely comments. Yes, we have many wonderful Inns and B&Bs, Hotels and Motels here on the Island. The Great George has been here forever but the one that Paul McCartney actually stayed in was The Delta. It is a newer one built in the 80′s down on lower Queen Street. Paul, no doubt, caused a little excitement when he stayed there! Have a beautiful day, my friend.
Blessings,
Sandi
Dear Linda,

I will be back now I have found you again.
P.S. I am having a little giveaway if you are interested maybe…I think it’s in your beautiful style.

Hello Linda,
I am just stopping by to say Hello. Hope all is well with you and that you are having a lovely Summer. You really do have a beautiful blog and I miss your postings. Hope you’re back soon. Take care.
Blessings,
Sandi
Hi Sandi,
It’s so wonderful to hear from you! And, yes, I will be back VERY SOON to my blog. I do miss it and all my blogging friends! I’ve had a busy, busy, busy summer and spent these past months ‘Growing’ my pet project ‘PinK Days In Bloom’ FUNdRaisers at local garden centres here on my island of Newfoundland in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Atlantic Region. It was a beautiful success and over $28,000.00 has been raised so far to help fund breast cancer research, programs and equipment throughout Atlantic Canada. I am just ecstatic that CBCF-Atlantic has adopted PinK Days In Bloom as a Signature Summer FUNdRaiser and will be promoting the initiative in other Atlantic province using the Newfoundland success as a model!
And, more beautiful news…I just got word that the Canadian National Landscape Association (CNLA) and Garden Centres Canada (GCC), at a meeting of its Board yesterday in Europe (where members are attending an international industry conference), voted unanimously to promote Pink Days In Bloom to its members in the Atlantic Canada and other provinces across the country! They even have a new Garden Centre of the Year Award that references Pink Days In Bloom in its criterion *GROWING ENVIRONMENTS: “Significant contribution to the community and your environment, either through a special project, or through store policies and operations – i.e. “Pink Days in Bloom” fundraiser, Arbor Day Tree Plantings (judged upon submitted explanation).” Whoo hoo! I hope that your garden centres on glorious Prince Edward Island will host Pink Days In Bloom FUNRaisers next gardening season in support! That would be a dream come true…
Thanks for your kind words and for checking in!!! XO
Hugs,
Linda

Linda,
“The Man in the Red Suit” brought you to my door last night! I know I will enjoy that book and share it with many friends. We met for only a few moments but I felt so inspired by you and your “Pink Days in Bloom” story. Our meeting has brought me to this incredible blog! What a peaceful and beautiful place to visit. You are amazing! I feel so privileged to have met you and I wish you all the very best in your health and your Garden Journey. I will be following and will be back to have tea with you, for sure. Thank you so much.
Kay
Beautiful series of photos .. the blooms are gorgeous and the tea things are lovely.
What a gorgeous collection of flowers! Very relaxing and real treat to the eyes. Thanks for your lovely comment dear….
Linda thank you for visiting my garden blog (joaniesgardens) and leaving a comment. I am always interested in what other people are interested in so I I decided to visit your world and I see we have another passion in common… beautiful antique tea sets. I have a collection of my own that I add to when I find something that moves me. You have some stunning pieces that are a real treat to see… It was a very pleasant trip to your beautiful world! Thank you
Hello Linda!
Thank you so much for leaving a comment and telling me my blog was helpful to you on your trip to NYC! I’m so glad you had a good time during your visit and I do hope you have many chances to return. I do miss some things about my native city but being close to my children and grandchildren have made up for that. I also am enjoying the beauty and serenity of where I now live. Sometimes, however, I think I’ll ‘wake up’ and be back in Brooklyn. I guess the reality of our move has not fully sunk in as yet. I will visit NY often in the future as dear friends and family members still live there, but I’m very happy to now be out west in Colorado!
I enjoyed looking at all your beautiful photos! I’ll be back to read more!
Linda, I was just gobsmacked by all the beauty featured here in this post!
Your gardens are just an oasis, I could live happily there among the flowers.
Thanks for sharing tea with me, it was truly a pleasure.
Hugs,
Patti
I enjoyed all the flowers you’ve shared, so many pink ones that I have and love too. The teacup cookies are nicely decorated, having a similar cutter I know how much work was done to them.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Judith
